Todd Vollstedt Wins Teacher of the Year

Todd Vollstedt recently won the title Teacher of the Year for 2017 at San Dieguito High school Academy. He teaches integrated math II and Math readiness. Vollstedt enjoys helping students discover that math can be accessible for everyone and a skill that anyone can learn, he said.
“I really enjoy being at SDA. I am sincerely honored and feel very privileged to have won this award. The students and people here are just nice in general and the staff is tremendous,” said Vollstedt.
His primary goal is to make class enjoyable for people who wouldn’t normally have the resources to feel confident in their math skills, he said.
“I was never a big fan of math before I had him [Vollstedt] as my teacher, but he made what we were learning very understandable. I felt like I really excelled in his class and would like to thank him for helping me develop my newfound love for math,” said sophomore Chloe Farber.
