Speakeasy Preview

SDA’s Creative Writing class is putting on their bi-annual Open Mic Tuesday. Being a twenties-themed ‘Speakeasy,’ students are invited to dress in Gatsby-era attire.

Poets, storytellers, random rant-writers, and listeners are all welcome. The event has a free admission with food and snacks available for purchase before the show, during intermission, and after the show.

“Our class has been working tirelessly for weeks in preparation for the event,” MC Liam O’Brien, junior, said. “We have eight different committees hard at work making sure the night flows with no issues, and no mic drops.”

Students can sign up the night of the event to read their work in front of an audience of an expected 100 people, or simply attend to hear the stories and poems of their peers.

The event is on Tuesday, Jan. 20, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the PAC.
