Turns out that in 2010, salt is no longer just everyone’s favorite table condiment! An action flick about a mysterious CIA agent meets Russian spy meets total badass hottie Angelina Jolie, Salt was surely one of the best movies of its kind this year.

I’m pretty sure everyone is at least somewhat of a fan of Jolie, even if just for her looks, despite any personal discrepancies against Jolie, she is undeniably perfect for the role of Evelyn Salt. She manages to be totally mysterious and not really the ideal “good guy,” but somehow she’s still likeable and the person you root for in the end. It’s a bit dramatic, but hell, drama equals a good action movie. “Salt” definitely keeps you at the edge of your seat, or more realistically, stuffing your mouth with popcorn, or squeezing your significant other’s/mommy’s/friend’s hand at the jumpy parts.

“Salt” is particularly awesome to watch for those who are interested in spy-action and murder-mystery based films. The basis of the movie is Jolie’s character killing a slew of important people while outsmarting them, all whilst deceiving and confusing you the whole time. Not only does she manage to jump onto moving semi-trucks in freeway traffic, but she also manages to go from blonde to black hair in just one easy dye step while running from the CIA, police, and Russian government. That is not an easy task, people!

I would recommend this movie to most anyone, as it is an action movie that actually has a plot and keeps your attention throughout. The movie overall is highly compelling, with the constant changes in who is good versus who is evil, not to mention being very cinematically well done. There’s definite surprises and confusion, so expect a lot of to hear a lot of “huh?” and “what?” remarks. It’s not really a question as to why this movie won the best action flick of the year, but rather a question of how soon the sequel will come out. Pepper, perhaps?
