SDA’s quarantine tunes

High Schoolers will always value music and often seek it to feel better or relax and just vibe to some tunes. Our very mood on a specific day can define the very genre we listen to. And considering we’ve been in quarantine for over a month now. I thought it would be interesting to explore some of the songs and genres SDA students have been listening to during this quarantine. I asked each student four questions…

What has been your go to song during quarantine?

      I asked this question out of curiosity to discover what songs students have been listening to during Quarantine and give other people a chance to try out new songs.

What is the genre of the song?

     I asked this question because I wanted to see which genre has been the most popular during quarantine for SDA students. 

Did you discover the song during quarantine?

     I asked this question to see if the amount of free time during this quarantine has given them time to listen and discover new music. 

Would you be willing to never listen to the song again, but have quarantine end tomorrow?

     I finished off with this question because I wanted to understand how important music is to students, and if they value it more than being stuck at home.

The response that really stood out the most to me was the amount of students that would be willing to give up their favorite song just to have their old lives back. There were a couple that said they wouldn’t, but they all had valid reasons to why they said what they said, because quite a few believe quarantine itself is coming to an end. There was also a diversity of genres listened to, and I believe quarantine did not have an effect on this, it really came out to preference. A lot of people discovered new songs during quarantine as well which makes sense considering the amount of free time we have right now in our lives. In conclusion, SDA students have a very strong connection with their music, but will always have a stronger connection with their friends.
