Thunderbirds honor frontline COVID-19 respondents with SoCal flyover
May 15, 2020
Six Air Force Thunderbirds soared through the Southern California skies to honor frontline COVID-19 respondents on May 15 at noon.
“I thought this event was such an amazing way to salute the first responders and bring the community together. My dad sent me a video and I saw people outside of their houses watching and people honking their horns. It was such a great way to celebrate our community and the frontline that is keeping us safe,” Rachael Baum, a junior said.
Lieutenant Colonel Kevin DiFalco, said the Thunderbirds hope to spread the message of unity during these hard times and social distancing.
“It’s very common to hear people say thank you to our military members and service members but now it’s our turn to say thank you back to those frontline workers in the medical community,” DiFalco said to ABC 10 News.
