Stephen Curry’s Injury to Keep Him Out for Two Weeks

The record-breaking season the Golden Warriors had this year was cookie cut to perfection. Their star point guard, Stephen Curry, had an unbelievable year, making over 400 three pointers and leading the team to a 73-9 record which was the best of any team, ever. He also is certain to be a consensus MVP of the league, this season everything that the Golden State Warriors could have dreamed of. Unfortunately, the playoffs haven’t gone as planned.

Golden State opened their playoff series against the Houston Rockets, where Curry had to exit the game because of an ankle injury. Curry returned two games later for game four of the series. By that point the Warriors had already won two of the three previous games.

That’s when things went south. Curry suffered a fall in the first half and had to be carried off the court. He didn’t return, and the Warriors won by 31 points, but people speculated he could be missing serious time.

Monday, Golden State released a statement saying he has a “Grade 1 MCL sprain”. This means he will be missing at least two weeks.

What could this mean for the hyped Golden State Warriors? They average 10.2 points per game without Curry playing. Personally, I think that they could struggle next round against either the Portland Trailblazers or Los Angeles Clippers.

It will be interesting to see what will happen in upcoming weeks without last year’s MVP on the court.
