A Halloween playlist, without the stereotypical “Monster Mash”

Get into the Halloween spirit with our spooky playlist

October 10, 2018

Not feeling in the spooky mood yet? Just because it’s not “The Season” (aka christmas music season) doesn’t mean we can’t listen to music that will get us in the mood for pumpkin flavored things and the Halloweentown trilogy. Spooky music isn’t technically an actual genre but why shouldn’t it be! We should be able to have a platform where these types of songs can be easily streamed, but instead there’s just “The Monster Mash” which i’m personally not down to listen to, but that’s just me. To those who are re-watching stranger things and wearing sweaters even though it’s still 75 degrees, desperately trying to embrace Fall, sit back, relax, and enjoy this Spooky Season Playlist (that isn’t just background music to scary movies):

  1. “Night Drive”- Part Time
  2. “Already Gone”- Alvvays
  3. “Drifter”- Wild Nothing
  4. “Closedown”- The Cure
  5. “Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You Baby”- Cigarettes After Sex
  6. “The Ghost In You” – The Psychedelic Furs (I may have gotten this from the Stranger Things soundtrack)
  7. “Modern Holiday”- Beach Fossils
  8. “Sleep Walk”- Betsy Brye
  9. “Deadly Doll”- Jesse Jo Stark
  10. “Cruel World”- Lana Del Rey
