San Dieguito Academy will be presenting William Inge’s “Picnic” on June 1-3 and 8-10.
“Picnic” is a dramatic play about people in a small Kansas town as they prepare for the Labor Day Picnic. The main character is Hal Carter, a young rowdy man, coming to town with a purpose to find his old friend, Alan. This leads to a disruption between neighbors, friends and family.
Junior Gibran Mustafa plays Carter. He said, “These deep characters depend on the actor to bring emotions out on stage and sometimes this process can take more time to understand since the characters are more complicated.”

Junior Emma Balda will be playing the role of Millie. Balda said, “It’s my first major role in a show so I’m very excited to have received this opportunity!”

Tickets cost $8 for students and $15 for adults and are available on www.seatyourself.biz/sandieguito. “Picnic” will be performed at the Clayton E. Liggett Theater at SDA. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show will start at 7 p.m.
