Have you ever wondered what the colors of your outfit are really saying about you? Maybe that black skirt you’re wearing is saying more then you expected. Recently, studies have been conducted dissecting the true meaning of the colors of the rainbow. Everything from black to purple to yellow and green, these colors have been said to say more then you may think. After reviewing many internet sources, I have concluded to the following results.
Take the color black, the everyday neutral color that you can spot on almost everyone you see. Whether it’s a cardigan, shirt, skirt, pair of pants, or purse, almost everyone has worn black sometime in their lifetime. Known to slim down your figure, black is proven to show strength and authority.
It is also the face of power, intelligence and even evil in some cases. Famous villains like Cruella Devil, Ursula, and Maleficent all wear the color black to demonstrate their wickedness. On the contrary, Black is also famous among business people because of its demonstration of intelligence and strength. So whether or not you are trying to look professional and strong or evil and wicked, black is the color for you.
Want to draw attention to yourself? Then red is the right color. Known to excite people, red is certain to get your heart pumping and eyes looking, because they will definitely be looking at you. Red is also the color of love and sensuality. So if you want to attract a mate, a red dress or top is the way to go. Although red is the most emotionally stimulating color, it can make the wearer appear heavier so if you are trying to look slimmer, red is not the color for you.
One of the most popular colors among many is blue. Tranquilizing, peaceful, and calming, blue has the opposite effect of the color red. Blue is scientifically shown to produce calming chemicals in the body, so if you’re a stressed out soul, blue is the right color for you. Although a peaceful color, it is also a cold and depressing color. If you want to impress, blue is also a good color to wear because it symbolizes loyalty.
Want to be easy on the eye? Then you’ve hit the jackpot! Green is not only symbolic of nature; however, it also is said to improve eyesight. Dark green is a symbol of wealth and masculinity. And light green is used frequently in hospitals in order to calm the patients.
So no matter what color of the rainbow you choose to represent you are sure to be making a statement you may not have thought you were before.
