“The Jungle Book” Review

Disney’s “The Jungle Book”, is a great entertaining story we all know and love, but when the audience watches this new version, they will be amazed with Disney’s new twist on the film, making it intriguing and intense with incredible graphics. The storytelling about the relationship between animals and mankind has something that everyone of any age can enjoy and I highly recommend it.

From the beginning, every member in the audience ends up rooting for young Mowgli, played by Neel Sethi. This young actor was the perfect fit for the role because of his charm and personality. Audiences will fall in love with him because of his innocent and fun-loving spirit. He takes us on an adventure as he straddles two worlds: his adopted wolf family and his human family he has yet to meet.

I think this movie teaches good life lessons such as “the strength of the pack is the wolf and the strength of the wolf is the pack.” It was a good family movie, but at times, it got a little intense. There were fight scenes with the evil tiger Shere Khan as well as the orangutan, King Louie. This made the movie a little more mature and not as lighthearted as the animated Disney version in 1967. Although this movie wasn’t a live action movie, the amazing animations of the animals and voiceovers made it feel like it was real life.

The only thing I didn’t enjoy as much was the famous song “Bare Necessities” because it was a very short scene and not as happy as it was in the original film. All of the songs were much shorter and not as carefree.

Overall, “The Jungle Book” guides viewers along through conflicts and “coming of age situations” with on-the-edge-of-your-seat action scenes that has the audience engaged. Disney yet again gets viewers emotionally invested in the life of the characters even though everyone knows how it ends.
