Under the Never Sky

By Becca Von Zweck, Staff Writer

“Under the Never Sky” by Veronica Rossi is the perfect book for fans of dystopia, with plenty of science fiction, romance, and struggling to survive in the wilderness. The character development is amazing: Aria and Perry come from completely different worlds – one  sheltered from the hardships of the outside world and made up of false virtual realities, the other with everyone struggling to survive the harsh, unsheltered reality of a life where every day is a struggle to survive the aether storms, cannibals, and cold winters.

Aria is exiled from her quiet, safe life into what is known as the Death Shop, and is sure she won’t survive. She meets Perry, who is experienced with taking care of himself in the cruel conditions of the outside world.

I was awestruck at how Perry and Aria’s views towards each other changed-. He  saw her as weak, sheltered and unable to care for herself and she saw him as savage and uncivilized. But in the end they bond as they struggle to help each other survive and realize how strong and good-hearted the other is. This is perfect if you love suspense, romance, fighting, kick-butt characters and even a little humor!
