Jake Bugg, an emerging musician, singer, and songwriter, takes an edgier turn on his newest album by incorporating strong guitar riffs, quick-to-slow tempos, and a sixties vibe. His second studio album “Shangri La” was released on Nov. 18, after long months of recording in Malibu.

Bugg released his album single “What Doesn’t Kill You” over the summer, a song that explains love, heartbreak, failure, and life. His songs are deep and expressive, revealing symbolic messages, rather than overdone and unoriginal like the top 40 hits on the radio. Bugg released another single titled “Slumville Sunrise” in the fall, along with a video promoting the song and the album.

In my opinion, Bugg’s indie-rock album may top the charts on i-Tunes sometime soon. Although he is only 19-years-old, his music resembles the likes of Bob Dylan, Donovan, and other musicians from the sixties. You can listen to his album and watch his new music video on http://jakebugg.com/.
