Experimenting with an assortment of embroidered neck lines and floral fabrics Vera Wang’s spring 2011 collection features sophisticated silhouettes and origami styled draping. Wang targeted the various muted colors of sheer materials. She also had her models tied up in knots with a recurring trend in the line, rope belts paired with evening wear.
An abundance of layers with diverse light weight fabrics were displayed to portray more of an unkempt appearance. Hair stylist Jimmy Paul referenced the beehives of the 60s with his over-the-top, teased up-dos. Makeup Artist Lucia Pieroni went for soft, shimmery makeup.
Over all the collection embodied an edgier evening wear. In this collection Wang succeeded in bringing a more youthful edge to her classic and sophisticated style.
