Registrar Bridget Sabin was named as one of the top six State Classified Employees of the Year in California this month. The results came as a shock, said Sabin.

“I was just surprised to be recognized amongst so many great applicants,” she said.

Sabin said she did not expectto go far in the competition as San Dieguito is a smaller school than the other districts involved. She enjoys her job and appreciates the students and staff, said Sabin, adding, “Students and staff at SDA make my job easy, especially from this community.”

This recognition came after Sabin was named Classified Employee of the Year for all of San Diego County.

She was originally nominated by three of her coworkers: counselor Vicky DeJesus, principal secretary Lois Delanty, and Assistant Principal Jeanne Jones.

“She is one of the most professional, thorough, and organized people I have ever worked with,” said Delanty in her nomination letter.

“Her commitment to the job is reflected in the way she interacts with staff, students, and parents,” she continued. “She is caring and courteous with all staff- all her colleagues love working with her.”
