Recent construction in the student lot has left a main entrance on Melba blocked from all incoming and out-going traffic.
The construction is being done to fix the irrigation, which drains onto the baseball and softball fields in the back of the school, and to add a sidewalk, said Assistant Principal Ryan Yee. The construction is being done through the city, said Yee.
With the entrance blocked, many students have encountered problems with getting to school on time or remembering to use a different entrance.
“I do see kids driving the wrong way and turning around all bitter that they forgot,” said senior Connor Brownell.
“I have to leave earlier for school. On the first day [of construction] I didn’t know and had to sprint to class because I was almost late,” said senior Courtney Haller.
The administration originally heard that the construction would take place over summer and currently has no idea as to when the construction will end, said Yee.
