Adopt a Family

ASB collected gifts this week from participating homerooms for the Adopt-A-Family program. After being assigned a struggling family, students went out and bought gifts for members of their “adopted” family.

“It was a really great outcome this year,” said sophomore director Gabi Gjata. “We’ve adopted the most families in a while and the organization said we were one of the best schools that participated.”

“A few of our representatives went to Save San Diego yesterday, and they [the company] were really excited because it was a really good turnout,” said sophomore ASB member Noah Hauptman.

Students who participated in the program appreciated the chance to spread holiday cheer to their “adopted” families, with the aid of their homerooms.

“I like the program because it really feels like you’re helping out a family who needs it, especially at this time of year,” said sophomore Quinn Sakihara.

According to ASB, a total of 38 homerooms participated this year, hopefully making a difference in their “adopted” family’s holiday season.
