Talent Show Preview

A showcase of the uniqueness of San Dieguito’s students, the annual Talent Show, will be held this year at the PAC on March 12.

Juniors Zac Sippel and Courtney Walsh have put together the event, which they say will showcase 20 acts ranging from contortion, to rappers, to tap dancers.

“It’s a pretty special event,” said Sippel. “Everyone here seems to have their own talent, even if it’s not music or dancing. It could be something you don’t normally consider.”

Judging the event will be assistant principal Doug Kamon, special education teacher Liz Dargan, yearbook teacher Heather Temple, and math teacher Kristen Huy. They will be judging each event based on a rubric and a scale from 1-10. The winners are announced at the end of the night.

The planning for this event has been happening for the past few weeks, starting with getting signups and finding judges, and then working together with the theatre department to help set up the PAC, have backstage crew, lighting, and on stage set up if needed.

“It really brings everyone together from different sections of SDA. [Kids come] from all around the school and come together to show what they can do,” said Walsh.
