Farewell Assembly

The seniors said goodbye at the school-wide Farewell Assembly with laughter and tears. After performances by senior Jack Van Cleaf and SDA’s French Horn Wind Ensemble, seniors Ashi Holcroft, Melanie Rudiger, Ben Ellerbrock, Stacy Li, and Elise Gout spoke about looking back on their years at SDA and how it has affected their lives.
Seniors are not the only ones who will be leaving, though. Foundation Executive Director Sheila Durkin, art teacher Neal Glasgow, and lead library technician Donna Gonzales are all retiring with the class of 2015.
Following a few of the senior goodbye speeches, a brag video brought light to the clubs’ and sports teams’ achievements the students have accomplished this year.
The winners of Homeroom Olympics were also announced with PALs homeroom, run by counselor Anne Nebolon, taking the gold and math teacher Kristen Huy’s and English teacher Blaze Newman’s homerooms placing second and third.
The assembly ended with a few seniors spraying silly string and throwing toilet paper at the unsuspecting crowd as a “senior prank.”
