ASB Hosts SDA Movie Night

Students showed up with a mix of beach towels, blankets, and lawn chairs and spread out on the grass in front of the PAC last Friday night for a showing of the “The Parent Trap.”

ASB decided on “Parent Trap” for movie night by creating a list of possible movies and then voting on the best one. “There was a huge majority for ‘The Parent Trap’ because we thought it would cater to most of the student body and it’s a classic,” said senior Oceana Haaland.

Free food was one of the attractions of the movie night. ASB bought 300 burritos from Jorge’s and passed them out. One SDA family made cotton candy, and ASB borrowed a popcorn maker from the theatre department, according to Haaland.

Some students were disappointed that they missed some of the movie waiting in line. “The beginning was kind of rough because I was in the cotton candy line for the first 30 minutes or so of the movie, but it was okay,” said senior Kyra Benowitz.

The movie night was enjoyed by the audience, who could be heard reacting throughout the movie. For senior Gabi Gjata, this was the best part of the night.

“My favorite moments during the movie night were when the audience would cheer, or applaud, or laugh at certain scenes from the movie,” said Gjata.

Benowitz agreed that her favorite part of the night was “all of the times that everyone would ‘Oh’ at the movie.”
