The girls varsity team had a successful season last year in Division III. This performance permitted them to move up to Division II this season. Both varsity and JV hosted their first game against Mission Hills on December 1st at Alga Norte. Both teams won their games, starting the season off on the right foot. Varsity won 8-3 and JV won 16-2. These successful games will hopefully set the team up for a good season.

Ella Miller, two year varsity player, describes the first game of the season saying she “scored two goals, and it was a good start to the season. It was the first game we all played together and it was exciting to see us win.” She explains how she’s “looking forward to seeing the team progress and continue working together.” Ella expresses her desire for the team to make it further in CIF since they “only made it to quarter finals last year, and it would be awesome to win.”

Senior, Delaney Scheibe, talks about her favorite parts of water polo as a varsity player: “my favorite part is how supportive the team dynamic is and how I’ve been a part of this family for 4 years now.” Looking forward to this season, Scheibe says her goals for the team this season are “to take what we learn from hard games and use it to better ourselves.”

The team has been working hard with practices every night and games often. Many tournaments, home games, and teamwork is what to expect from this year’s girls water polo season.
