Homeroom Olympics Hosts Music Video Contest

By Michael McQuarrie, Staff Writer

In Homeroom Olympic’s newest event, homerooms have the opportunity to create their own music video. These videos can consist of original or pre-existing songs that are either sung or lip-synced by members of the homeroom. These goofy videos can be anywhere from a minute to a minute and a half long and can incorporate whatever props the homeroom chooses. The only catch is that the videos must be clean and school-appropriate (No, this is not the time to showcase your artistic take on Slim Shady). The winner of this event will be chosen by the Homeroom Olympics committee, and will be showcased in the next Spring Assembly.

As the school year comes to an end, points are becoming more and more of a necessity in the competition, said students. Seeing as the entry pool for this event has been relatively small, this provides homerooms with a great chance to sneak by the competition and improve their standing in the race. With the top few teams only a couple hundred points apart, every single event is crucial. Overall, this event promises to provide a fun and entertaining twist to the Homeroom Olympics competition.

Videos must be submitted by April 21.
