Homecoming was Largest Yet

November 1, 2016

SDA students glowed under the black light at the homecoming dance last Friday, Oct. 28. Chaperones handed out glow sticks as students dressed in white entered the dance to enjoy both live music and a DJ.

Students packed into the gym for the main dance floor as well as enjoyed the band “Almost Monday” that featured senior base player Cole Clisby. Outside the gym, students also had the option to paint their faces with glow in the dark paint to ensure their visibility on the dance floor.

In addition, there was a photo booth for students to capture memories from the night.

Halfway through the dance, homecoming royalty was announced. Seniors Noah Hauptman and Kim Quach celebrated their victory with a slow dance.

ASB executive Natalie Shields, senior, said, “The success of the Welcome Back dance was really important for getting attendance at homecoming. It sets the bar high for the rest of the dances. Homecoming was the best attendance we’ve had at a dance in 80 years.”
