Exhibition Day Soon Approaching

A short meeting was held on May 10 in the ASB room during lunch for Exhibition Day, which will be May 27, the last Friday of the month, where plans about location ideas and requirements for food vendors for the event were discussed.

ASB set up a texting group called Remind 101 to send reminders to participating students. According to ASB director Rod Keilor, this will make it easier to communicate any new information regarding the event and will include information like where and when to get wristbands for the sessions they will participate in.

During the meeting, Keillor discussed how the sessions would be planned out for the day (two sessions for selling, two sessions for exhibits.) Although not yet final, more people seem to be in favor of having the sessions more spread out, so that students have time to experience more. Vendors are encouraged by ASB not to sign up for every session, so that they also have at least one session to experience Exhibition Day.

There will be restrictions for anyone who plans on selling food. For more restriction information can be found in room 70 (ASB room). In addition to the guidelines, student vendors will also need a food handler’s license, which can be obtained by speaking with culinary arts teacher Scott Huntley in room P-1. Although students distributing food for free do not need to meet restrictions, they do have to have a food handler’s license.

Vendor locations will be set up away from the construction, with a majority of the vendors near the PAC. The petting zoo will be in the grass area in front of the Learning Commons and the Auto Club will be in the front parking lot as it has been previous years. The skate demo location is still to be determined, although possible locations include behind the PAC or near the tennis courts. Other locations for participants are in front of the gym, PAC, near the 30s and some classes will even offer space for those who prefer to be inside.

ASB will accommodate students if they need a specific location (if students need to be near an outlet for electricity). ASB will also open up their classroom for all participants who need a space to store materials and anything they need for their set up. Students will be required to provide necessary materials and equipment, but ASB will provide tables and chairs.

If you are participating and want to receive reminders, text “@exday2016” to 81010.
