Homeroom Olympics Launches “Taking Care of Each Other” Event

By Michael McQuarrie, Staff Writer

Homeroom Olympic’s goal has always been to create a bit more fun at SDA and this year they are introducing a new event called “Taking Care of Each Other.” The main goal of this event is to relieve the stress that students experience on a daily basis.

In this semester-long event, homerooms have the task of creating activities that promote the well-being of other students. If homerooms wish to propose an idea, they can send two representatives to the homeroom Olympics meetings on Tuesdays in the conference area. So far, some of the activities that have been approved are a make your own pet rock day, a school-wide scream, and an imagery meditation day, the dates of which are yet to be determined.

In addition, homerooms will have the ability to earn points and increase their standing in the race this year, which just so happens to be one of the closest in a long time. With the top two teams only a couple hundred points apart, every single event is going to matter. Overall, this event promises to be fun and diverse, providing a multitude of benefits to the student body.
