Junior Java

SDA held a junior java during homeroom on Thursday June 4, an event where ASB supplied the junior class with complimentary food and beverages. A senior java is help at the end of every month, and a similar event was conducted for the juniors at the end of the school year, as they are soon to be entering senior year.
The event offered the juniors fruit, bagels and other pastries, and ice cream sandwiches made by Scott Huntley’s culinary arts class. Coffee and juice were also provided. The food was organized by the ASB class, and some of it was donated by parent volunteers.
The event was enjoyed by the junior class, who flocked to the gym entrance to take advantage of the event. “Thumbs up emoji,” said junior Chandler Price of the event.
“I think it went pretty good, though we were a little short on food,” said junior Reiko Inouye, an ASB member who was involved in planning and setting up the event.
Partway through the event a group of students from the senior class ran into the area spraying silly string as a senior prank. Reactions from the junior class were mixed.
“The seniors rushed it before even half of the juniors could get stuff. That’s a great prank, just wait like another five minutes,” said junior Sydney Schwartz.
“I think it was fun, I think it was an innocent prank and it didn’t do very much;, it just got silly string on food and that wasn’t a big deal,” said Inouye.
