Live Action Painting

On Wednesday, November 13, the Art Wars club put up a wall next to the Mosaic and painted it during hour lunch, an activity called “live action painting.”  The wall consisted of 100 individual squares which were sold for five dollars each. The event lasted all of lunch with club members constantly painting the wall. “Painters switch off and odd other things [art],” said senior club member Laura Breidenthal.

Although the club was making a profit, the main point of the exhibition was for artistic expression. “It is an abstract piece and we can sell small parts of it. Each piece is a unique part of a bigger whole,” said Breidenthal.

Jazz Band, Halfro, performed during the event.

The club’s goal was also to publicly share their art with the students of SDA. Said senior and club member Celine Parker: “Art is for everyone. It is important to create and not have any inhibitions about creating.”
